Short story of a man waking up at 3 am thinking its morning only to find out the light outside isn’t daylight, but a middle of the night decimation of his city by something that annihilates anything it targets. He survives the initial attack because he lives in a basement unit and quickly learns he needs to stay in the shadows and avoid the light to survive.

sounds interesting any art thoughts for it

Sounds great!
I’m looking forward to this. Are we following a deadline calendar again (I presume?)

Finished Comic Story on Sept 1

I’d like to do another ST ContinuINN with a new character. The character would be a woman who’s ancestor was a female samurai. I had this in mind before the prompt was announced, so now I’m thinking of how I can incorporate it. It would involve a fight scene followed by the descendant waking up like last time. Maybe the adversaries in this one could be ninjas (shadows)? @Bauldery

Hey all,
I plan on returning to do a continuation of Parasomniac for this. Can’t resist the prompt 😉
-
how will you use the promt
-
Well inherently the prompt lends itself to represent the dream world (darkness) and real world (light) within the real world as something tangible. I have already used this theme in the first anthology when the main character Cole represented himself as nothing by stepping into shadow during his spoken word performance. I can further emphasize that symbology in this continuation. I also have some plans to do some other references to the prompt throughout within the dialog.

I have another idea. Since the prompt involves shadows/darkness & light(s), maybe I could do a Black Knight comic about a duel of some kind between him and another knight? @philipspace

What is their conflict

I’m thinking that the other knight destroys his village and the black knight is fighting to avenge it.

Absolutely. A few of us flew solo for the previous anthologies. That being said, it becomes a lot easier to reach the finish line if you can team up, too. Just less for one person to have to carry.

OK, a couple of questions;
- Are we attempting to follow a calendar this year; eg. posting outlines, scripts, character designs, thumbnails, etc. by posted dates? I understand the concept of the final deadline, it’s all the lead-up to it that my question pertains to, and this seemed like it was helpful for people looking to form teams. This isn’t a question of hand-holding, so much as utilizing effective time-management tools.
-
Will there be a separate board/boards for posting progress so that we can follow each others work? I felt that this was an important component in the previous anthologies for helping everybody keep on track, as well as encouraging one another in their progress.
-
As far as outreach, will that be predominantly focused on promoting the finished project, or will there be concerted efforts to draw in more creatives?
I appreciate your time in answering these. Thank you.

@evanscale and I are hoping to return with more Legends of the Realm work. Cannot wait to explore this prompt!

*If this happens to post I’ve replied to this post because I cannot reply directly to the OP.
OK BOOM! Here’s my story concept. It took me a while to get it to something coherent. Anyway, please critique it & make suggestions. This is my 1st time participating & my main goal is to just complete a submission. If you think you’d like to join me in bringing this idea to pages, message me/hit me up. I could use a team!

Story Concept
Creative Prompt: The idea of “Shadows & Lights” directly inspired my story concept. As we’ve seen in different stories, Vampires live in the shadows and fear the light. Visually, I want the 8-pages to look like Frank Miller’s Sin City (which I just recently discovered thanks to CBS forum) with a simple black and white.
Title: Just Your Average Vampire!
Finding Love in the Digital Age is Hard to do (especially when you’re a vampire).
Setting: Harlem, USA
Main Characters:
Vilson the Vampire
Delphine the Vampire Hunter
Deborah Williams the “Fender” Date
Vilson the Vampire has found who he thinks is his “soul-mate” on the “Fender” dating app. They have a 9PM sharp date in Harlem at the new trendy establishment “Seasoned Pigeon”.
One, well two things, stand in-between Vilson and his newly deemed “soul-mate” Deborah: Vilson has forgot about his 7PM blood bank appointment (to quench his blood lust), AND his personal stalker, Delphine the Vampire Hunter is HOT on his HEELS!
Can our Vampiric Lover-Boy overcome his BLOOD LUST to quench his THIRST for LOVE?! Or will Delphine the Vampire Hunter get to the heart of the matter by bringing the apt stake?!

Here is a script draft for my story idea. I’m in need of an artist and feedback would be appreciated. I’ve also attached my short story from the first anthology as a reminder.

Getting pretty tired of seeing these advertisements for these… essay writing services? Whatever this is?
Can one of the admins boot these posts?
Pretty sure they’re not here to make comics.

So exciting. I will have to submit to create a comic this term.
