Thank you for joining us Mike.
Can you talk about how to build a meaningful relationship with your audience before–and between when–you have something to sell?
-
Give Give Give Give … then give some more. Engagement is the give
-
But f’real, the more you engage and support others the faster you’ll build the know like and trust curve and have people support you when you’re ready
-
-
How do you convince people to spend more money on a book on kickstarter rather than buy it for less at a con or through amazon/your website?
-
So we covered this on the discussion but for those who didn’t see – Kickstarter is a place for people who want MORE and want to be INVOLVED in the process, including simply supporting. So you don’t have to convince them all. They know what they’re there for.
-
-
How do you track the analytics behind your campaign and how important are your video views and percentage completed to you
-
How far out from the beginning of the Kickstarter campaign do you start your pre-campaign
-
Beyond an email list if you have any suggestions on how to build a bigger backer pool
-
How important is it to set up the pre-campaign page to allow for followers to be made aware of when the Kickstarter goes live
-
The Pre Campaign page is huge – set it up 2 weeks prior and direct audience there
-
-
Percentagewise how much of the project do you suggest being finish before you kick start it
-
I’d almost tell you to have the book done 100% because then you can fulfill and immediately get the next campaign going
-
-
How do you decide how much to ask for from the campaign to make sure you get enough but don’t ask for too much that you can’t succeed
-
How important are stretch goals and how would you suggest someone new approach creating stretch goals
-
What are the top five things you feel have to be complete and ready to go before starting a kickstarter?
How/When do you decide to start or join an indie comic studio?
When did you prioritize art as a career and what do you say to people who are afraid of giving their art priority over their day job?
Thanks,
D Alley, the Redheadeded.

Do you believe you’re breathing rarified air with your success or that what you’ve attained is accessible to others?
-
Ironically i am not even CLOSE to being as successful as i wanted to be starting out so i always feel i have a long way to go. That being said ANYONE with talent and drive can get to where i am no doubt
