when starting out selling comics, what is a good starting price for something like an 8 page comic or if we decide to expand our 8-pager into something of a standard 22-24 page comic?

What do you look for in a cover letter, especially from a creator with whom you are not already familiar?

    Thank you in advance

As an editor of this anthology, I’m looking for tips about giving feedback to creators. To what extent are you critical/nurturing in your feedback, and does it change at various points in the process?

What made you guys want to start Ahoy Comics, and what were some of the big do’s and don’ts you think people should know when becoming a publisher of your own work?

    Thanks, D Alley.

What comics are you personal fans of right now?

You’ve discussed how Ahoy has a (dark) sense of humor with their comics… is there a humor you avoid? Or is off limits? I’ve got a really sick sense of humor sometimes, but potty humor (fart/poop jokes) I just can’t do. Is there a “right” sense of humor for Ahoy? Or personally?

OK so what CAN an artist do to become the go to person a comic book publisher or writer wants to hire? for those of us who are new what do you want to see? Life drawing? a produced comic? If you can see it in moments unlinke with writers, what do you see in those first few minutes?

    Thanks, D Alley.

When first starting & soliciting your work, is it with the intent to be picked up for one of their books or is it to have your own book picked up? Or is it primarily dependent on the publisher?

What would you say is the average time in the industry a writer takes to write an issue ~20pgs?
