Buddy gave a great interview with Brian Pulido on this very topic back in April.
The big takeaways from that video (at least for me) were:
Start a newsletter to update people on your progress, post weekly. This is a crucial step in marketing.
Ask people to sign up for your newsletter every chance you get, doesn’t matter who. If you don’t ask, they won’t sign up. (I’ll say “yes” for sure)
You will get more people saying “no” than “yes”, that’s normal, focus on the “yes” people.
Kickstarter can work for you and it can work against you.
Don’t break your back, or the bank, trying to come up with reward tiers. Some things will work, some won’t.
Finish your project before starting your Kickstarter.
Don’t think of this as your “one shot”. You need to be open to trial and error.
